This course is designed for experienced shooters who want to teach new shooters how to safely and effectively use a shotgun.

Details:

This course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Shotgun Shooting course.

Completion of this Instructor Course will enable you to teach NRA BOPS and apply for your Maryland QHIC.

As part of this course, candidates will complete a pre-course questionnaire & demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises.

Candidates will demonstrate organizational & teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course & complete an instructor certification examination.

Candidates will teach or observe classmates instructing the Basics of Shotgun Student course.

Prior to the instructor training, candidates will complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises.

The deposit is due within 7 days of registration.

Prerequisite:

Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Candidates should have successfully completed NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting course. Instructor Candidates must have completed NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT). BIT, if not offered as part of this course, can be scheduled for an additional fee as needed. Candidates who have not taken BIT within the last 2 years should contact Jeff to schedule BIT completion prior to this course.
